Thank you
Karen for hosting this fun event, please make it over to
My Desert Cottage to see all the wonderful studio's on display.
I have to say just a few words that I feel very fortunate to have been nurtured in a loving and artistic environment. My father was a very talented artist and had his studio at home, he made his living as a commercial artist but he also sang, played any instrument he picked up, wrote a couple of books, painted beautifully and spoke all over the world. I owe all my talents to my earthly father and my heavenly father.
Welcome to my studio
I am sorry but the pictures will not enlarge when clicked on for some reason, so I put a slide show at the bottom of the page, if you click on it will show in in full screen ...thank you.
My studio is in the back of the house, so please follow me down the path, under the white rose trellis, please watch your head the roses sometimes get a little wild.
We will cross the back patio and follow the flagstone to the left past the fountain, the building on the right is the potting shed, don't trip on the hoses--I'm sorry I tend to leave them laying in the way and to the left is the studio.
Ok, here we are through the French doors--it usually is quite messy in here, I tried to clean it up as much as I could for your visit.
Just a slight warning...time stands still in here.
Hi... Come in, feel free to look around, take your time and I'll get us a glass of wine.
One of the things I enjoy most about my studio is the morning light that filters through the windows, as it faces east. It calls to me every morning.
I had a ton of shelves put in for all my vintage fabric, and then curtained it all with some old fabric that I had a lot of. At one point my shelves broke from the heavy fabric, that's when I decided I better start selling.
So what do I make in here - you say?
Well, that varies with my mood, in fact that is my biggest problem....so many ideas so little time. I love old fabric so I do a lot with mixed media and fabric. I paint with oils and acrylic, in fact I have a half finished still life over there in the corner. I make jewelry and collage work. I do a lot of holiday especially Christmas, a couple of years ago I was a featured artist at Macys in Chicago. Anyway here is some of the projects I am working on right now.
Well, I really enjoyed your visit today. Please come back anytime and visit I do love the company. And thanks again
Karen for being such a wonderful host. Please leave a comment if you so feel inspired, I do love to hear from you and I am also extending a give away of some found treasures that I uncovered cleaning my studio this week. Names from my comments will be put in a hat and drawn, the winner will be announced on White Wednesday. Thanks for dropping by and don't forget to turn out the lights!
Blessings to you,
Rebecca
