Christmas Decorations part I on White Wednesday

Decorating for Christmas

This year came a little late and a little sparse but I still enjoyed the moment...

Starting in the dining room, I put up a vintage white paper tree.
 It dresses up the front of the house.

Old wooden gates flank the floor to ceiling windows in this old 1860's home. The old comfy chair in the corner is slipcovered in old table linens.

I love to use fresh greens and old silver...
 the mercury glass silver is one of my favorite ornaments to use.

We have hot water heat, so we have covered radiators throughout the house... it makes nice shelving.

The living room and family room will be posted.

We will be leaving for Minnesota, land of snow, tomorrow. I talked to my daughter and she said they have 40" on the ground right now.
 We will be joining my whole family for Christmas.

          I  checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are  gearing up
for this  virus!
      
          I  checked Snopes, and it is for real. Get this  E-mail
message sent around to your contacts  ASAP.
          PLEASE  FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND 
CONTACTS!

      
          You  should be alert during the next few days. Do not  open
any message with an attachment entitled  'POSTCARD FROM
HALLMARK,'regardless of who sent it  to you. It is a virus which opens
A POSTCARD  IMAGE, which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of your 
computer.
      
          This  virus will be received from someone who has your 
e-mail address in his/her contact list. This is  the reason why you
need to send this e-mail to all  your contacts. It is better to receive
this  message 25 times than to receive the virus and  open it.

          If  you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even though  sent
to you by a friend, do not open it! Shut down  your computer
immediately. This is the worst virus  announced by  CNN.
      
          It  has been classified by Microsoft as the most  destructive
virus ever. This virus was discovered  by McAfee yesterday, and there
is no repair yet  for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys 
the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital  information is 
kept.

          COPY  THIS E-MAIL, AND SEND IT TO YOUR  FRIENDS.

. It IS on Snopes, but it's not as dire as they make it out. Instead of shutting down your computer, simply delete the email. If you don't open an attachment, it can't do you a bit of harm.

Happy Birthday Blog Party

Welcome...  to my party!!!

I love that you are here to help me celebrate my birthday, it is a busy time of year so I appreciate you coming so much.

I graced this earth one week before Christmas... 1948, 

(yes, there I said it, I know some of you were wondering)  and I have been trying to put my mark on it ever since.

Some things I am proud of - some things not so much. As I reflect for just one moment, I have just a couple of thoughts.

I think when you get to be a certain age, such as I, the thought crosses your mind, I haven't done what I set out to do! I haven't cured world hunger, been a missionary to Madagascar, wrote a book... ok, those might be a little high to attain but they seemed attainable when I was young. I just thought I would have plenty of time. 

Somehow my path took a turn and some where along the way I managed to, feed the hunger of 6 growing children, show God's love to people around me and the book, who knows I might still have time to do that.

 My point is that life is ever changing and that is the beauty of it, there is a brand new day every morning to do something special, you just don't know what God has in store next. Each day is a chance to start new again.

  Two things in life I try to live by...

Always wake up grateful and show mercy to others.
