Hello
I have been busy in the studio this week painting... I finally picked up a paint brush again and it felt good. I have been trying my hand at oils, something I haven't done since I was in my 20s. It is somewhat difficult for me, since I have been using acrylics. After I get a few paintings under my belt, I will share.
I thought it would be fun to do a White Wednesday post, I haven't done one for awhile. Kathleen, has been such a sweetheart hosting this now for such a long time. Here are some random shots of white for your Wednesday.
The last of the lilac...
My first blooms of the season... so pretty!
Viburnum smells so sweet outside my door...
Yes, and it is getting to be that time again when we start preparing for the summer shows. I only have one booked this year and it is this one. My daughter Jody and I are going to be selling at The French Market again and we have some great hand-mades in the works.
This week besides painting I am getting ready for a trip to South Dakota. I am teaming up with KC Willis and going to the
Pine Ridge Reservation the first week of May.
I am gathering clothing, books, coats, shoes, tools and cleaning supplies in a trailer and hauling it across country to where it is so badly needed. The Lord is doing a work there and He has so graciously invited me to witness His beauty. If any of you would like to know how you can help, please email me.
Wishing you a lovely White Wednesday with Faded Charm!
Blessings
Rebecca

Take a few moments to Drive over to the BLACK HILLS area. Also at the school their is a art show, check out when the next one will be. Bless yu for taking time to go to Pine Ridge. I'm a SoDak girl who now lives in TEXAS. I have taken things to PineRidge on several occassions. For painting, the Badlands at Dawn are awsome. Do be careful on the hwy. around Pine Ridge,it's one that has a history of accidents. Wish I was going with you,I'm missing the way the sun hits the waves of grasses. Love the pics
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL white pictures!!!! You have a great eye for photos. Sure wish I could make it to Tipton to the French Market. Happy Spring Ya'll from Houston, TX

Oh Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteYour photographs are stunning, as always. I love each and everyone of them. You have such a talent for putting things together......and, your garden is really bursting into life. We have Solomon's seal and vibernum in our garden, but we are somewhat behind you but, driving in the countryside yesterday, the blossom, new lime green leaves and fields of green and gold looked absolutely beautiful. I love the Spring. XXXX
Your vignettes are just beautiful, love them all but that one with the sheep and butter pats is really sweet! Have fun on your trip, I can't wait to hear all about it! t.xoxo

Another beautiful post, Rebecca. I can't wait to see your oils. I painted in oils when I was in my very early 20's also but haven't touched a brush in years now. Good luck on your SD journey. I can't wait to hear all the details about it. xo Diana

What a lovely thing for you to be doing this week spreading Jesus love with such needed items. I don't think most people in the US understand just how much poverty we have here in our own country. So many needs- but we have a big big God who loves to use us to be his hands and feet.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures of your beautiful home Rebecca!

There is always something pretty to admire here. Today I am mostly admiring your pretty heart as you and KC set out to serve and uplift those at Pine Ridge. I have been reading her posts and this is truly an amazing opportunity. May the Lord bless the work of your hands.
ReplyDeleteRebecca, Your heart is so good, helping others in need. I love the whites you have shown. Can't wait to see somethingyou painted. xo, Susie
ReplyDeleteWell your lilacs are magnificent. I don't think I've ever seen a white with that hint of purple. I'll have to look for one. I have to say most ppl want the purple ones mostly. You've captured some lovely shots of your studio. I can see you're enjoying your new camera.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!!!
