Vintage Christmas Monday

Hello and welcome to Vintage Christmas Monday hosted by Joan at Anything Goes Here... Please visit the other blogs posted on her blog to see inspirational Christmas displays.

Welcome to my home this week...

Our tree is always in the family room... we put this addition on in 1992. Then we had teenagers and we needed a television room. Our home was built in 1860 so it needed a casual room. The ceilings are 12 foot in here so it shows a tree nicely.

One of my favorite things to decorate with at Christmas is boxwood greens and tallow berries.

The tree is decorated with all old ornaments from the Victorian era to some of my husbands mothers ornaments from the 60s.

My vintage bear collection

The picture is of my father, mother and me...

I have a small tree in the dining room,,,

My father painted the Christhead many years ago and it is my favorite painting of his.

My Christmas bottle brush tree collection

I love sheep...

I am continuing my Birthday til Christmas give away - that is 7 days and 7 gifts with the final gift a Star ( pictured on my last post). Please leave a comment and post the birthday star picture on my side bar and you will be entered in the give away. Thanks so much for all your birthday wishes, you are all so kind thank you, thank you.

This week I am finally in my home and not the shop! I did manage to bring Christmas home finally... not as much as I have in the past but none the less I have some put up. Usually I have fresh greens everywhere but this year got a little hectic with all the events at the shop and no help. Hopefully this next year will bring a better economy and I can hire some help in the shop, but I am not complaining I have enjoyed it all.

My husband does the lights on the tree and he is amazing - it usually takes him a full day and a half to put lights on the tree. He starts on the inside and wraps all the branches - he is so patient unlike me...

I will be going home to Minnesota on Wednesday for Christmas to be with my mother and all my children. I will be posting on White Wednesday and then on the day after Christmas to announce the winners of the birthday giveaway. I want to thank all of you for your kindness and thoughtfulness this past year and wish all of you a blessed Christmas week.
Rebecca

  17. Oh Rebecca! I so enjoyed all your photos. Very beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us. This was way better than any magazine I've seen this holiday season.

I'd love to be put into the drawing for one of your awesome stars if it's not too late and I'm glad you had a nice birthday. If we have to have them, they might as well be good, right.

    Take care,

  19. Hi, Rebecca .... just taking a minute to say Merry Christmas and thank you for "inviting us" into your house. Everything is so wonderful .... I should've been a better guest and brought some shortbread dipped in white chocolate for us to nibble on over tea!
Such fun! Maybe in 2010 we can have tea together for real...
Have a wonderful time with your family in Minnesota!
    Hugs!

  21. Rebecca your home is even more lovely then I imagined it would be.....I love every detail. I love boxwood too but unfortunately we sold it all....so my next favorite noble fir and incense cedar will have to do. The cake dome with the mini sheep, trees and doll are to die for. It must take so much time just to do that room. I just started lighting the tree( the right way) last year and oh what a difference it made.
I hope you had a good year at the shop. I had a great one at the shop due to an free email commerce thing. You might have something in your area too. I can send you a link! sorry for such a long comment.
Guess I should have just sent you an email!!!!:)))
Just love you to pieces......wish all the joys and love of Christmas on you and your family! So happy to have met you this year!
    Merry Christmas!

  29. I think we are twins separated at birth- I love sheep. I love bottle brush trees and all white lights on my Christmas tree, which needs to be huge. I collect vintage rabbits, not bears, and I am in love with white linens. This room is gorgeous. And I am in awe of the slide show at the bottom of the page- I am coveting that green huge bird cage something fierce.

I am sending you some info on my April shopping trip to Paris via email. I hope you can come and if you have any customers you think would be FUN, mention it to them. I do have a referral gift for travalers who bring a friend!
