Sunday Studio... Studio Sunday




Welcome to my first Sunday Studio party...

I know blogland probably doesn't need another link up day but I needed a little motivation myself and thought this could be fun.

So out of my studio I will be posting every Sunday hopefully to encourage and inspire anyone that wants to join me. I will have the link up the day before so you have plenty of time to join in. 
Just click on the link at the bottom of this post and follow the directions...if you are having trouble or haven't linked up before I would be glad to help you.

I felt Sunday was a good choice because it is a day we have set apart for the Lord and rest.
I have been set on a new journey this past year, old things past and made new again. With the closing of the shop I have picked up a new adventure through God and art.





 I want to encourage everyone, that expressing God in our life can be done through everything we do, including our art. It doesn't mean pushing our beliefs on others but rather a loving and kind attitude. The scriptures say in Col.3 Whatsoever you do, do it heartily as unto the Lord. 
To me, this means all things including my artwork.




 My artwork comes from the heart which is made new by Jesus Christ and is an expression of Him. Therefore as an artist or artisan  whatever you consider yourself, you don't have to make
 "religious looking art" for it to be God inspired. 






Whenever I make a piece of art it is my praise offering to the Lord and I pray the Lord uses it to bless and heal. It is the Holy Spirit inside me honoring my Father in whatever I do.








 I am honoring the gift that the Lord has given me and thus blessing others and showing the love of the father through my everyday journey with Him. If it encourages, edifies, beautifies or just makes someone smile it is from the Lord. 








This is my message, my journey to glorify my Father through whatever I do. 
My desire to do art comes from Him who made me and this I return to Him with praise and thanksgiving.




Please join me on this journey and share your gift no matter what it might be... to encourage others and edify Christ in us
 the hope of glory.

    This is a lovely idea, Rebecca. Your art is so lovely and I'm anxious to see the participant's response. Personally, I have been very lackadaisical for quite a while now.

    Hi Rebecca, I so enjoy your blog, although I am relatively new to this world. I love your art. It's funny, but the feelings you have been experinecing and writing about with your art being more "God" based and more reflective of his work in your life, are exactly the feelings I have been having also! Through the years I have used my creative talents in many medias, most recently in floral design. Styles and preferences change, so I am looking for a new way to use my creativity for the Lord. I want to incorporate more scripture into my work, so the art carries with it a spiritual value to the recipent. Thanks for sharing. I love your idea for Sunday studio!!

    So very well said! I play the piano (Well, not much any more, but still can) and have played in church and not played in church. But I taught for years. People would act like I was sinning if I wasn't playing in church somewhere. They never seemed to get that teaching others was sharing my God given talent. It was passing on the blessing and that's what we're supposed to do.

    Our artwork can be a blessing to others. Even if it's just looking at a picture of it. I loved seeing the art in your post. I was blessed and inspired at the same time and that makes me double blessed. :-)

    You are ever so beautiful, Rebecca! I just love reading your blog, talking to you in person, seeing your breathtaking art...

    I was encouraged by your post today. Thank you! I linked up one of my projects from last week. I had hoped to get so much more done this week (sigh) but that's ok. Now I have something to look forward to next week =)

    While I have been blessed in so many ways, being artistic isn't one of them. I thank God for giving me the gift of sight though, so that I can share in yours.

    So glad to see this post. I still struggle with thinking that I am somehow being selfish when I create or putter in my garden. I was raised in a very works oriented home and am so thankful my Jesus has brought me to experience GRACE more and more. I still have a long way to go but am asking my Jesus to teach me how to lean on His breast like the beloved did. I think I lean best when I am being creative or taking to him in the gardens.

    What a wonderful post. I would love to come to your party. It's been a 'long cold winter' LOL with sick kids for Months! It's kept me from posting & even visiting my friends as much as I'd like.     Oh Rebecca what a lovely Blog Party this is going to be to participate in every Sunday! Today I am sharing the Art of my Photography. After my Son moved back Home and into my Studio I felt displaced to do my usual Fabric and Jewelry Art... but I have now made the outdoors my Studio to explore the Art Form of Photography... which I've always had a love for but never really perfected my Style of until I entered the Land Of Blog.

    Through my Photography and spending more time outdoors to seek out and capture the images to Post about I am also creating more Zen Moments, an added bonus to this new Journey! Thank you for your sweet comments to my Zen Moments Post... I will link up to your Party from that Post. This is so inspirational!

    Well you know ART and altered art is a God Given talent.Just like being able to sing.
    I always wanted to sing but didn't get that God given talent.

    My Talent is doing the blog thing now and thanks for this post.
    You know you either have it or you don't. How God chooses who gets what talent is a mystery

    What a wonderful idea!!! Oh yes, I hope to be joining in on this soon. I have never done one of these linky things, but have wanted to.....purrhaps this is my opportunity! However, it won't be until after "she" gets back from Illinois, since the computer will be going with "her". Maybe the computer will be back early - it is after all COLD there and today it is 71 here! Yep, no typo, it's really that warm!

    I linked up yesterday but forgot to comment. Sorry, I am VERY new to this. :)
    Thanks for having Studio Sundays... I'm afraid that sometimes "artist" and "Christian" are two things that many people just don't put together nowadays. I don't know why - but that's been my experience. Thank you for providing a forum! I hope to find more like-minded people out there.
    On a separate note, my studio will soon undergo a bit of a facelift. I want a more creative/inspirational space... maybe I can use Studio Sundays to update my progress.
    I sure would love to see y'alls studios for inspiration!!!
