Challenge - Is anyone Interested?

I have a challenge for some of you...

I have just started a diet and I can use all the help I can get. You see the last few years I have gained 42 pounds... ouch, that hurts. I gained most of this weight within a year. And yes, I have gone to the Dr and there is somewhat of a dispute about whether I have a thyroid condition or not. But that doesn't help the fact that I can feel a big difference in this extra weight, in my back and joints.

I told myself after the holidays, I would work on it. Well, it is almost the end of March and I have done nothing.
So this week I bit the bullet and started to diet. I need a diet that is high in protein because I am hypoglycemic, so I chose one accordingly. But I could use some encouragement and some accountability.

 So this is my challenge...

I can't be the only one out there that needs to lose a few pounds. If you are interested, here is my proposition.
I will do a post in a week and you can either link up or email me if you are interested in joining me in loosing weight. It will be totally on the honor system. We do not have to divulge any pertinent information, only pounds lost.
Every 2 weeks I will do a post/link up  and we can tell how many pounds lost. The person with the most pounds lost will be rewarded by the person least pounds lost.
The person with the least pounds lost will owe the person who lost the most weight for that 2 week period a gift. It can be anything of your choosing, something hand made, bought or baked (probably not baked unless... well you know) And then in another 2 weeks we do it again.
Any suggestions? I am open to hearing any ideas out there...

There will be no limitations, this is just for encouragement so it doesn't matter if you have 100 pounds to loose or 5 or if you are 20 or 70.  I know it is easier to lose when you are 30 versus 60 but this is more about connecting and living healthier not winning. And actually we will all be winners in the end. So what do you say?
Anyone up for a challenge? Take the button and join me...
at anytime, April 6 or later if you wish.

Tell me what you think...
This vintage gal will be linking up to Inspiration Vintage Friday with Debra at Common Ground

Blessings,
Rebecca

Studio Sunday - Water Street Gallery

Hello
Welcome to Studio Sunday!
I am hosting a Studio blog party every Sunday to encourage and share our creative gifts.
Or just show off your studio and what inspires your creativity.

This Sunday I am at Water Street Gallery here in Batavia IL. It is where I rent studio space along with 30 other artists.
We donate our time to the gallery and share workshops.
Today is my time to work so I thought I would take you on a tour...

This is the art gallery. It has a juried show that lasts until mid May.

Today I had the pleasure of working with Leah, as you can see she is a talented artist. She works in oils and does amazing work. She is the mother of 2 children and has her studio space designed to bring her children in with her. They have a play loft and there creative space. I love that.

She has some workshops coming up and I plan on taking her portrait class in July. She also has a blog called On the Easel  please visit her to see more of her beautiful work.

Here are some of  the art pieces that I especially love.

These sculptures are made from driftwood and architectural remnants.

This wall art is made of book pages and wire... love the roots

This sculpture is made of coffee filters... interesting isn't it.

The gallery is open every weekend and second Saturday of the month features artists studios for tours. Fridays evenings there is usually music or movies. Check Here for schedules.

The H2O Gallery is our art for sale from resident artists and members.

Here is some of Leah's work for sale in the Gallery

This is some of my stuff I have in the H20 gallery

This is my studio door...

Studio number 4... come on in!

My work stations at the moment...

Please join our Studio Sunday tour and link up your projects with us.
Whether it be your studio space, garden or latest decorating project... creativity comes in many forms
and all are welcome here.

Studio Sunday - With the 1st Day of Spring

Hello and welcome to Studio Sunday
Happy Spring

The last couple of days I have been in the garden to show you that you don't always have to be in the studio to create.
That your gift can be anything from gardening to cooking to writing. The gift or talent that God gives you is rooted in your desire. If you truly do not enjoy something then that might not be your gift.

We all have different abilities also, some people are just better artists than others. Does it discourage me from doing what I love... no, it shouldn't. If I do get discouraged and there are times we all do, I search my motives, if it is jealousy than I have a problem and need to nip that right now. If it is an artistic block, then I need some inspiration to jump start the project.
You need to know what fuels your inspiration. Mine is color, fabric or a little treasure I may have found.
Don't be afraid at that time to use something special.
I think we all have that special stash we just can't seem to use... it just looks too good in the jar or on the shelf.
Sometimes you may need to use that something special to open up your creativity.

I am in my studio today working on some projects for a workshop I have coming up. I do not have a finished project to show you but I can show you some of my studio and give you some graphics you can use in your art.

I use copies of graphics in my art work but if I am doing a special piece I will use the original. Especially pictures.

Here are just some pictures of goodies I have stashed...

Thank you for joining in today and please link up and follow the links to the other inspirational blogs
Wishing you a peaceful day and much inspiration to make something beautiful!

Many Blessings
Rebecca
