In My Studio...

In my studio...

Where time stands still
And all my cares melt away.

In my studio...

Where I am all that I am meant to be,
And my ideas become reality.

In my studio...

Where the quiet softness of the atmosphere surrounds me,
And I can hear the small, still voice within me.

In my studio...

Where I find myself again - after the world chips away at my creative spirit,
And I am whole again.

In my studio...

Where my thoughts and prayers turn to praise,
And I feel closest to my Saviour.

In my studio... where I am content to be me.

This is one of my favorite gals... she is made of linen and I love her painted face.

Some of my ladies, I collect wax half dolls.

Picture of my father when he was in art school... I love this picture.

My sister Cindy and I at Christmas... I am the older one.

My daughter Kerri and I

My daughter Kerri and our precious Luke
who is having surgery this week... please keep him in your prayers.

My grandmother in her seamstress school when she was just a young woman starting her life. She is in the first row, 4th girl in wearing a white sweater. One of my all time favorite pictures.

Welcome to White Wednesday

Add Video"Where Women Create " Comes to Vintage Living on White Wednesday

hosted by Kathleen of Faded Charm...fabulous whites are waiting to be seen, check out her blog.

Today I am in the shop - just as I have been for 2 weeks literally night and day. I have been working on sprucing up the shop and my 2 studios. I have been getting ready for a photo shoot... I received an email from Jo Packham editor of Somerset Publications "Where Women Create" that she had been looking for someone in the Chicago area and that I was recommended to her by the wonderful KC Willis. She checked out my blog and wanted to come and shoot it for the magazine. All I have to say is what a lovely fun bunch of gals from the magazine...Dana the photographer is fantastic and such a sweetie and JO and Gina love you guys! I will keep you posted on when I will be featured and all the details!
Here are some of my projects that I put together...at 1am this week.

Lamp shades I made this week... they are pieced together with lace and fabric. I transferred pictures onto silk and stitched them onto the shades.

I hope you have a wonderful white day...
Blessings

Welcome to White Wednesday

Welcome to White Wednesday hosted by Kathleen at Faded Charm. Check out her blog to see all the wonderful white posts for this week.

Last week for white Wednesday I featured some of my wedding collection mostly wedding cake toppers and this week I will continue with my collection. I am featuring wedding memory boxes. These are my favorites and I will start out with my best of the best. I have two French Wedding boxes shown here. They are in glass with a small throne with the wedding head dress sitting on it. There are small mirrors with hand painted flowers on them. I love the detail the French always give to their treasures.
These sit on my mantle in my living room under my other prized possession (which is not white, but I won't tell if you won't) an oval mirror with cherubs that represent all the art forms. Each cherub has either an instrument, paint pallet, book or dancing etc.

Love the ormolu

Funny how the camera picks up certain colors...that red is not that bright and the head piece is white - so in the house it looks much more subtle

This is another French piece. It is a French wedding basket with a letter written to the bride from her groom, it is in the back ground. The basket is made of moss with silk ribbon and velvet flowers.

These next boxes are memory shadow boxes with the brides head piece made of wax flowers inside. Some have the veil also.

This is a bridal head piece made of wax flowers and I made a wreath out of it and hung it on my window...

Hope you enjoyed my white offerings this Wednesday. I always love hearing from you and I will be around to see your wonderful white treasures.
Blessings
Rebecca
