A RE-Purposed Life

What's in a name?

I am changing my blog name and my direction...

sometimes life hands you changes. I believe that is by design... my Heavenly Father has a plan and a path for me and it is up to me to follow where He leads.

It is above all else - it is why I am here.

I am here to glorify the Father.

Late last summer I had a life change. I closed my shop and walked away from retail, this was not an easy decision but a neccessary one. For the past 3 years I enjoyed having my own shop but with the economic changes it was no longer to be, so I did not renew my lease and I believe this was the Lords will for my life. Since closing some wonderful things have opened up for me and my new path has become a little clearer.
My focus and desire has always been on being creative in some form or another - that desire comes from the essence of who I am, formed by God.  I believe our desires connect with what God has for us and our assignment. This assignment is not always clear at first and it can change, it takes faith and as we trust God and step out our faith grows and we grow in Christ.
That is what I have been doing and the Lord is always faithful. I am excited to announce that I will be speaking and holding workshops on expressing our faith through our art. Art & God.

A RebeccaErsfeld-Purposed Life...

I will be in Virginia April 30 speaking and holding a workshop at the Lutheran Womens Luncheon, I will announce more later and in March I will be at the Imagination Congregation in CO. KC Willis has started these workshops and I am thrilled to be apart of it.
I will also be holding workshops locally and I am planning a Spring show in the garden.
So lots of wonderful things ahead and I hope you will join me on this journey and new paths to discover.
I am keeping the same blog address so I will not loose touch with all of my friends and my blog shop is still Vintage Living.

I want to thank Karen at Valentine Designs for my new look... she is fabulous. Please stop by her blog and tell her what you think.

Many Blessings
Rebecca

  3. Hi Rebecca,

I'm so happy for you. I think we have many twists and turns along our life's journey. All of which can only lead us to our heart's desire and what our real mission is.

I do think that your creativity and your love for our Lord will grow much larger than you can see right now. I think it's a wonderful twist for you at this point in your life.

I'll be anxious to read your updates.

    Have a wonderful day,

  9. Good for you! I was just sitting here this morning pondering the path the Lord has me on and it of course did not line up with "my plan" and where I wanted to be. But I have I'm becoming more confident that it's soooooo much better than my plan. Blessings on your new venture, I love the new look! I'm in Virginia and will be looking out for you in March. I'm still believing that God will open a door for me to attend the Imagination Congregation. God is doing an awesome thing raising up his daughters and their creative talents! Be blessed!

  14. Rebecca,
I felt the path that God would place you on would be fantastic, but this is amazing. All roads lead to Him and the journey you are embarking on is just unbelievable...or would be if I didn't believe He always has a plan for us. Amazing how by just stepping out of the boat, the rough waters become calm. I am so happy for you. I "hear" the peace in you words. Blessings.

  25. Rebecca,
I think this is just inspiring! I LOVE the new banner, the message, all of it. I think it's wonderful how you have taken this road & re-invented yourself. You have amazing style, taste & talent. I have always believed that things happen for a reason & we do not always know what that reason is. But to be quiet & have faith & be open to new experiences. Now that's something! I know you will be happy & successful at anything you do. Lisa

  30. It's not very often that I find a blog that truly inspires me in so many ways-especially a love for God. I've been on your blog before but not felt the need to search thru your past entries. Not knowing that you had closed your shop and living in Central Illinois-I had thought that maybe my husband could take me there sometime(I love your style), but now know it is no more. I think you are right about direction and letting God lead us-I'm still searching more for that and growing in my faith. Maybe I'll get to hear you talk sometime!
